The Kamuthi solar facility in Tamil Nadu, the largest in the world, has a total generation capacity of 648MW, estimated to generate power for 7.5 lakh people. Built in just 8 months, it was completed in 2016.
The Kamuthi solar facility covers 2,500 acres (10 sq km) and consists of 2.5 million solar panels. It was built at a cost of approximately ₹4756 crores.
