One of the ways a registered party can be recognised as a state party – If it wins at least 3% of the seats or at least 3 seats, whichever is more, in the State Assembly General Election.

For any political party to be eligible for recognition as a state party, it has to satisfy any of the five conditions as per the criteria listed in ‘The Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order, 1968’. This order is amended from time to time.
